I’ll be honest. I wasn’t very excited about it when I first picked it up, but I’ve since read it so many times the pages are falling out. I give it as required reading to over half of my clients. Dr. Hawkins was a psychotherapist in New York City who moved his practice to Arizona. Because of that shift, he developed the perfect mix of a clinical psychotherapist and a well-researched woo-hoo metaphysics. The idea of surrendering is often confusing to many and dismissed by cynical experts, but give this book a read, and you’ll become a believer…or stay cynical. Down-to-earth and filled with simple techniques that can accelerate inner work to a fantastical degree.
